Mountain Environmental Watch

Mountain Environmental Watch (MEW) is a community-driven, non-profit voluntary association committed to the conservation and sustainable management of the Upper Groot Letaba Catchment in Limpopo Province, South Africa.

Our mission is to preserve the ecological health of this region for people, nature, and future generations by promoting clean water, protecting biodiversity, and advocating for sustainable land-use practices.

We work in partnership with landowners, farmers, local communities, environmental organisations, and government authorities to ensure that the region’s unique ecosystems continue to thrive.
